My Anchor Holds, April 9, 2020

This morning the song that was on my heart was "The Solid Rock." The first verse says this, "My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus' name."

Jesus teaching in Matthew says this in 7:24-27, "Anyone who listens to my teaching and obeys me, is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the flood waters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won't collapse because it is built on rock. But anyone who hears my teaching and ignores it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will fall with a mighty crash."

Sing the chorus with me: "On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand, all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand."

The second verse reads like this: "When darkness veils His lovely face, I REST on His unchanging grace; in every high and stormy gale, MY ANCHOR HOLDS within the veil."

Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, your feet firmly planted on the Rock, and keep on singing!

Holding Steady with you!
