Do you remember when you were in grade school and there would be 2 team captains and then they were to chose who would be on their team? The anxiety of hoping you would be chosen and not left behind had true emotions with it. Today in our Scripture we can rejoice because we have been chosen by the God who loves us deeply. We are chosen to be His children to be on His "team."

Because of being chosen we have received everything we need to live our lives for Christ. We have been fully and completely forgiven of sin. We have received the abundance of God's grace that fills us with wisdom and understanding!

Each of us, as we have believed in Christ Jesus, have received the abundance of the Holy Spirit, poured into us by God as a guarantee of eternal life, our redemption is secure! Throughout the book of Ephesians Paul will emphasize the working of the Spirit in our lives and we will do the same as we walk through this book together. In just a few weeks we will be celebrating the Day of Pentecost when the Spirit was poured on believers to strengthen their witness to the world.

Today I invite you to rejoice in the idea of being chosen! You belong to the Lord! You are deeply loved by God! You are full of His grace and Spirit to live a life of victory!
