A Chill in the Air

These past few days have brought a chill in the air. For some, it may mean getting out the light jackets or sweatshirts and for others, a time to breathe deeply of less humidity and the coolness. The trees are slowly beginning to change colors while others are losing the leaves faster than I can keep up with them! Isn’t that typical for this season? Yet, when the seasons change we sometimes seem to be so surprised at the chill or the yard work!

I cannot help but think about the seeming expected changes that come in our lives with getting older, yet we are often surprised when perhaps we don’t have the energy we used to have etc. But there is one thing that we need to concentrate on, no matter the “season” of our lives, and that is our spiritual health.

3 John says, “Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.” I find it very interesting that there is such a deep connection between our health and our soul. When we are struggling, hurting, discouraged, and so many other emotions that can rob of us our peace and joy, we need to be aware that it is in Christ that we can find a shelter from those things that distract us from His presence and peace.

Lean on Jesus during every season of your life—you will find there a Savior who loves you and desires nothing less than His goodness in your life. If you need a church home, we would love to welcome you to the family of Trinity! Join us for worship this Sunday at 10:30!
