As I read this portion of Scripture I am aware of some words that stood out to me: rejoice, worship, I want to know! Know what or who? Rejoice in what or who? Worship what or who? I want to know Jesus in a more intimate way and the power that comes into my life by knowing Him better. I want to worship in the Spirit and to lift up the Lord in every aspect of my life. I want to rejoice knowing that I am in the Lord's care.

The greatest longing of the Apostle Paul was to know Jesus and to experience the personal fellowship and nearness of Christ in a more intimate way. Paul was pursuing this in his life. To pursue an intimate relationship with Christ, his ways, character, and nature are revealed to us in God's Word. Taking this pursuit seriously includes being willing to dig into the Bible, to read it, to hide its truths in our hearts and minds. To spend time in prayer and communing with the Lord. Taking the time to worship the Lord and to honor Him in all you say and do.

Knowing the power of Christ in our lives is to experience in our lives the daily renewal of strength and help the Lord's brings us.

So let me ask you this question today: What do you want?
