As we come to Romans 6 we are fresh with the thoughts of the power of God's grace in our lives. Paul continued to expand those thoughts and to remind us that because of the death and resurrection of Christ we are no longer slaves to sin but are made alive unto God.

This is also a stark reminder to us to examine our own hearts and to be sure that we are living lives that are pleasing to the Lord and not having behavior that would be contrary to God's love. We are no longer under the power of sin's sway but are under the power of the life of Christ.

Because of this the ending message of this chapter is that the life of Christ has provided for us the GIFT of eternal life. What an amazing gift it is. To think that each of us, born of God, have not only life in Him today, but life in Christ forever! The Westminster Catechism tells us that the primary duty of humankind is to "love God and enjoy Him forever!"

The life of Christ in us provides the strength we need to walk in the light of life and not the detriments of sin. We are FREE in Christ. Free to love, free to rejoice, free to dream, free to explore all the wonders of God in this world that have been freely given to us through the grace and love of God through Christ.

Enjoy this freedom in Christ today!
