Are you dry?

Recently I went on a 2-week vacation and when I left, nothing was leafed out. When I returned, I was overwhelmed with how beautiful, lush, and green everything had become. The flowers I had planted prior to leaving were now blooming and growing. Spring had finally arrived and creation is doing exactly what it does every year, renew itself.

The last few days have been very rainy and the earth is being abundantly watered. No drought in our area for sure. As I take a few moments to reflect on this, it causes me to think about the words of Jesus to his disciples in John 7:38 that “whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” Jesus is talking about the presence of the Holy Spirit that they were to receive.

Are you spiritually dry? Do you feel like your heart is in drought? There is refreshment in Jesus that comes through the Spirit of God. In the weeks to come we will be talking about this refreshing that each of us needs on a daily basis and how to maintain a freshness in our spiritual lives. Join us on Sunday mornings at 10:30. Each week there will also be a new article on our website about this refreshing that can only come from the Lord.
